Who We Are

Gusto 501 brings an authentic, community-driven culinary experience to Toronto’s east end. In partnership with award-winning architecture and design firm, Partisans, Gusto 54 Restaurant Group is transforming the once-auto body shop at 501 King St. East into three stories of open-air dining space, each with its own unique food and drink menu. This architecturally significant addition to Toronto’s Corktown neighbourhood is punctuated by a floor-to-ceiling glass façade & reclaimed terracotta accents

The Role

• Take orders, deliver food and drink in a timely manner
• Prepare drinks to order as punched in by service team
• Communicate daily specials and make recommendations to guests
• Cultivate a unique and memorable dining experience for guests
• Handle cash and process payments
• Serve alcohol in accordance with Ontario Law
• Study to maintain strong product and menu knowledge
• Follow Health and Safety Standards when handling food and beverage
• Partake in regular testing to ensure product knowledge is to standard (80%+)
• Attend regularly scheduled training meetings to develop knowledge and skills
• Develop a rapport with frequent guests

Who you are:

The right person for this role has a strong hospitality leadership background and prioritizes both guest and team member experience. The ideal candidate is equal parts people and process-driven with an aptitude for creating efficiencies at all levels of the business.

Preference will be given to those who possess:

• Previous bartending experience in a high-volume cocktail bar environment a must
• Strong knowledge of cocktails and wine
• Smart Serve Certification
