Who We Are

With a highly anticipated launch in summer 2019, Gusto 501 brings an authentic, community- driven culinary experience to Toronto’s east end. In partnership with award-winning architecture and design firm, Partisans, Gusto 54 Restaurant Group is transforming the once- auto body shop at 501 King St. East into three stories of open-air dining space, each with its own unique food and drink menu. This architecturally significant addition to Toronto’s Corktown neighbourhood is punctuated by a floor-to-ceiling glass façade, reclaimed terracotta accents, and the “attico” – an intimate space designed for immersive chef dinners.

The Role

• Take orders, deliver food and drink in a timely manner
• Communicate daily features and make recommendations to guests
• Cultivate unique, memorable, and transporting dining experience for guests
• Handle cash and process payments
• Serve alcohol in accordance with Ontario Law
• Study to maintain strong product and menu knowledge
• Follow Health and Safety Standards when handling food
• Partake in regular testing to ensure product knowledge is to standard (70%+)
• Attend regularly scheduled training meetings to develop knowledge and skills

Who You Are

The right person for this role has a strong hospitality leadership background and prioritizes both guest and team member experience. The ideal candidate is equal parts people and process-driven with an aptitude for creating efficiencies at all levels of the business.

Preference will be given to those who possess:

• A hospitality mindset, always finding a way to operate from yes
• The ability to multi-task and organize competing priorities
• Works collaboratively with others – a true team player
• A level of comfort with the physicality of the role
• Smart Serve Certification
